Today we have an interview from the amazing V, whose favourite woman of the Bible is the Proverbs 31 Woman. Read on for her great perspective on how this Biblical woman is the "ideal" role-model for modern women, no matter what season of life they may be going through and despite the prevailing/popular beliefs of the day.
Who is your favourite woman of the Bible and why? What would you say that modern women can learn from her?
The Virtuous Woman (in Proverbs 31:10-31) would be my favourite woman. I believe she represents the ideal that all women desire to be, yet are not willing to admit, especially in this day and age:
- Pure (not just sexual purity)
- Righteous
- Industrious
- Business owners and/or homemakers
- Independent (not apart from God- those that are believers)
- Esteemed wives (those that are married)
- Beloved mothers (those that have children)
- Wealthy (not just in finances, but in health, love, relationships, etc)
- Intelligent and wise
- Charitable
This woman is the ideal as she sees herself, not through the eyes of the world, but the lens of her Father.
Please finish the sentence: I am a Christian woman who is…
I am a Christian woman who is just a woman applying Biblical principles to my everyday life, and living out the plan and purpose my Father has set before me.
Please finish the sentence: I am a Christian woman who is not…
I am a Christian woman who is not judgemental as I am human and not infallible.
Any final words of encouragement?
As women, we hold a special place in the eyes of our Father. Once we recognise His love for us and see ourselves though His eyes- through love (unconditional, sacrificial, perfect love)- watch out! Purpose will come. Security will come. Confidence will come. Connection will come. Love will come. And life will never be the same.
