I’m currently reading Crushing by T.D. Jakes
One of the concepts that stood out to me is how he talks about the fact that change, negative situations or what he calls the “crushing," can ultimately turn out to be for our good
In it, he quotes John 12:24
Where Jesus says “unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit”
When Jesus said this, He was talking about Himself and the fact that He would have to die and rise again so He could free us from sin. But this process is also true for us
Here's how 👇🏾
As people, even in our everyday lives, for us to progress or 10X- the mindset, systems, relationships, and so much of what is familiar to us currently has to die
So that it can give way to the new
A seed, if we were to personify it, only knows its life as a seed
All it knows is being in the soil, planted and covered until all of a sudden everything produces the right circumstances for the roots to start bursting from its shell and the stem and everything else to start growing
When we see plants, what we are essentially seeing is not only a dead seed but a transformed one
This brings me to my point:
A lot of the time we can be intimidated by our whys
We can be intimidated by the big goals and the big visions that we have but that’s
Because, like the aforementioned seed, all we know is our lives right now
We don’t know how we’re going to get to what we see in our mind’s eye, and that can scare us.
In such instances, our goals, purpose, and why can cause us to want to retreat, run away, or not try at all
But the fact that you can see a brighter future means it's yours to posses
Like the seed you just haven’t tapped into your potential yet
You just need to trust that as you go through the steps, day-by-day to bring about your goal/vision, your path will eventually become clear
And you will become the person that you need to be to carry that load and to carry the burden of the purpose that is inside of you
You just have to start
