HARO is the reason that I ended up speaking in Costa Rica in 2019
Here's how:
Apart from using HARO for PR success for me and my clients, I also like to use it as a relationship building tool
I do this by simply screenshotting/grabbing opportunities that I feel would be perfect for other people in my network and sending it to them. This is a good way to pay it forward, become an asset and add value to others.
I did this with my friend Kathy Haan (international success and business mentor) in early 2019 and, as a result, she was featured in Thrive Global's Sheroes series
Here's what she had to say about it:
“I got a feature in Thrive Global for their #SHEROproject. This set off a series of events:
I get to be the freaking HONOREE at a red carpet gala in Las Vegas this winter, where I’ll get interviewed on TV and get to schmooze with celebrity guests
A DC/Marvel comic illustrator is illustrating ME and other Thrive Global SHEROs into real-life heroes, and we get showcased on a beautiful poster
I get to sign posters at MEGACON Orlando this Spring (one of the biggest Comicon where some major celebrities will be in attendance!)
>>How freaking COOL is this?!<<
At the gala, I get to share my story with other women who are walking in shoes that I walked all those years ago…
A huge thank you goes to Nina Dafe…who is selfless and such a great connector. She is the one who nudged me on this opportunity and it has created so many [more] as a result”
This is what led to Kathy inviting me to be apart of her retreat months later and then circling back to ask me to speak to her attendees
Not to mention the beautiful people that I met in Costa Rica and the many ways that we've also gone on to nurture and support each other in life and business since then
I had no idea, at the time, that sharing that HARO opportunity would bear so much fruit for Kathy, let alone me...but that's both the joy and law of reciprocity
Want in? It's simple, sis! On your way to using HARO for your own PR success, take others with you by sharing opportunities that may be beneficial to them.
