If you’ve been rocking with me for a while, you’ll know that I don’t buy in to new year hype but even I can admit that it has several benefits
Like a clean slate that gives us renewed energy to try again or try something completely new
And try as we may to run away from it, resolutions just hit different at the top of a new 365 days
While we all have good intentions when we set our resolutions, statistics show that most people give up on them by February
I know, that’s crazy, right?! Especially when you think about the fact that, that’s typically a month after setting them
I know what you’re thinking, sis: What makes us give up so soon?
Well, we continuously fall short and get stuck in the “new year, new me” rut because we fail to plan since:
As the renowned French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry said:
“A goal without a plan is just a wish”
In other words, while it’s good to write down our goals, doing this alone is not enough to lead to successfully fulfilling them. We need to have a plan for executing on our goals because if you have a plan that you can follow (with daily or weekly tasks to complete, for example), you'll increase your stamina and ultimately reach them at the end of the year
And if I think about PR, it is absolutely no different
Many people say they want to increase their visibility, and they might have this goal on their list of New Year’s Resolutions. But again, if you don’t have a plan, then it’s simply just a wish that’ll be forgotten about in February.
One of the things that made the Media Magic retreat, that took place in July, so magical is the fact that each and every woman walked out of it with a bespoke PR plan, tailored just for them and their unique business needs
Giving way to results like this:
So, if PR is on your New Year’s Resolution list but you’re unsure about what goes into planning for success in that arena, you might want to consider joining us in Mykonos, Greece for Media Magic 2025
