“Do you think my story is interesting enough to share?” This is one of the most frequently asked questions I get
Especially from would-be clients
My answer? While having the practical components in place is important
Like branding, knowing how to structure a pitch and the ability to communicate your story
Ultimately you need to have faith and a “who knows” spirit to succeed. Here's what I mean by that 👇🏾
Recently, I had an epiphany:
Esther 4:14 says: "Who knows whether you [were made] for such a time as this?"
I found it very interesting to read because...
A lot of the time when I’ve heard this message preached, it's often quoted as “You were made for such a time as this”
As though Mordecai and Esther were always sure that her success was definite
But as I reread it, I realised that Mordecai posed it as a question, suggesting he didn’t know that Esther would be the one who would deliver the Israelites, but believed it was worth the try
Especially when compared with the alternative 👀
Because he understood, like you need to, that you miss 100% of the shots you don't take
This, plus an incredibly powerful why, is what propelled Esther forward
And made her into the celebrated hero that she is today
But it all started by asking the right question
For, you see:
Prior to being faced with the power of “who knows,” Esther had basically made assertions about why she was not up to the task
Like the women that I mentioned at the beginning of this post…
She was unsure about the value of her story but that one simple question changed her perspective
How?
It forced her to stop dwelling on what could go wrong and see the potentially positive impact that she could make instead
And guess what?
It can work in your favour too, sis
