On my birthday, I went to go and see MJ the Musical
It was October 3rd, in case you're wondering, Nina
It was truly a fantastic show
With a great a great story, music and MJ impersonator actor
But that's not the thing that left a lasting impression on me
Here's what was
During the interval a screen came up
(Which for anyone who's familiar with the theatre is not unusual)
But what was different about this screen is that it had writing on it
Handwriting that I recognised as Michael Jackson's
I knew it was Michael's because of what it said
Things like "study the greats and become greater"
Which I recognised as being excerpts from his (legendary) manifesto
Not heard of this before? Neither had I until they talked about it in an episode of The RnB Money Podcast (with Tank and J Valentine) recently
It's basically a set of goals that Michael wrote in 1979 (at age 21) about how he envisioned his future
When I first read it, it gave me goose bumps because...
The trajectory that he saw for himself is actually what happened
For example, he said: "MJ will be my new name. No more Michael Jackson. I want a whole new character, a whole new look. I should be a totally different person. People should never think of me as the kid who sang 'ABC,' [or] "I Want You Back.' I should be a new, incredible actor/singer/dancer that will shock the world. I will do no interviews. I will be magic. I will be a perfectionist, a researcher, a trainer, a masterer. I will be better than every great actor roped into one."
In doing my research about this, I learned that this is a type of manifesting called "scripting"
I also realised that, by adhering to Habakkuk 2:2-3, I had actually been unknowingly practicing this for years
I also came to realise that this was a huge part of Media Magic's success
The luxury retreat that I held in Tulum, Mexico in July teaching business women how to get PR for themselves
So, although I remain mind blown and humbled by the rave reviews I got, I’m not surprised at them because I journaled (very specifically) about the outcomes I wanted
I would speak them aloud as affirmations and pray over them too
All of that to say, I encourage you to do the same thing. "Write the vision and make it plain" on paper so that you can script your future too
