Lessons from Jesus' Donkey on how to be used by God

Lessons from Jesus' Donkey on how to be used by God

I almost called this post. “How to be used by God (passed Easter)” because I feel like we can find it really easy to share the gospel during festive periods such as:

  • Easter

  • Christmas and so on

But then struggle to do so when all the hype is over; in our every day lives. Can you relate, lovely?

Well, the female donkey that Jesus rode into Jerusalem gives us 5 simple steps to overcoming this and making it happen- all of which I shared on my Facebook page this week via the (live) video below.

Lessons from Miriam and Pharaoh's Daughter on how to be a woman of influence

Lessons from Miriam and Pharaoh's Daughter on how to be a woman of influence

So if you follow me on Facebook and Instagram, lovely, you would have seen that I was named 1 of 101 Women of Influence! Receiving this honour also got me thinking about what it means to be a woman of influence from a Biblical perspective, especially because:

  • God promotes us so that we can ultimately promote Him

  • There are many scriptures that say that we, as the church, are supposed to influence the world in order to bring them to Christ (e.g. Ephesians 1:23, Matthew 13:33 and Mark 16:14-18)

  • Every God-sized vision is going to require a team (so you will need to know how to go about being influential so that others will help make your vision a reality)

When I started to think about the how or the blueprint to becoming a woman of influence, I found myself back in Exodus 2 because Miriam and Pharaoh’s Daughter displayed the very definition of “influence”- which is:

“The action or process of producing effects on the actions, behaviour, opinions etc of another or others”

I shared all of this and more via the (live) video below.

Lessons from Matthew 13:33 about How to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness

Lessons from Matthew 13:33 about How to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness

So last week, we talked about how to build a relationship with God as a continuation of the lessons that we learned from Noah's female relatives (the week before that) regarding why relationships are so important.

Today we're going to be building on all of this by discussing how to put God first by seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness- all of which I shared on my Facebook page this week via the (live) video below.

Lessons from The Woman with the Issue of Blood on how your test is your testimony

Lessons from The Woman with the Issue of Blood on how your test is your testimony

When I did my Stuck to Savvy challenge live a few weeks ago, I did a lot of talking about The Woman with the Issue of Blood because- having had a gynecological issue that caused her to bleed for 12 years before Jesus healed her- she is a prime example of somebody who was "stuck".

On continuing to reflect upon her story, though, I realised that the events of her life don't just demonstrate what is means to be stuck and then set free- she also demonstrates that our adversities are actually here to serve us. In fact, our test is our testimony is 3 main ways- all of which I shared on my Facebook page this week via the (live) video below.

Lessons from Samson's Mother on Leading by Example

Lessons from Samson's Mother on Leading by Example

Judges 13 is all about the announcement of the birth of Samson- best known for his rendezvous with Delilah, which ultimately led to his downfall. The first person to receive the announcement of his birth from the angel of the Lord was Samson's mother (although the angel did visit a second time to make the announcement to both her and her husband after that). Within both announcements Samson's mother was also given a set of instructions.

By default of carrying Samson in her womb and receiving the angel's instructions, Samson's mother became a Nazirite. It wasn't enough that she was the vessel through which Samson entered the world to fulfill his purpose of "[delivering] Israel out of the hand of the Philistines". It also wouldn't have been enough for her to tell him what being a Nazirite involved. She had to show him by becoming one herself and leading by example...

Lessons from the Parable of the Lost Coin on God's Love

Lessons from the Parable of the Lost Coin on God's Love

Jesus loved to tell stories to illustrate His points. This was to make His lessons more relatable and understandable to His listeners while He explained complex spiritual concepts, mostly about the Kingdom of God. One such story is The Parable of the Lost Coin, which can be found in Luke 15:8-10. You can press play on the audio below to proceed if you prefer, by the way. Feel free to download and share also:
